White Bird
Lionsgate, Kingdom Story Company, StoryCorps, and the USC Shoah Foundation: Honoring the Stories of Holocaust Survivors

Ahead of the October 4 theatrical release of WHITE BIRD, Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company have partnered with StoryCorps Studios and the Shoah Foundation to share real-life stories of Holocaust survivors. This collaboration aims to amplify the voices of those who have experienced the impact of history firsthand, highlighting the themes of bravery and kindness.

As part of this initiative, director Marc Forster and author R.J. Palacio participated in a meaningful conversation, reflecting on their experiences while creating WHITE BIRD and the graphic novel it is based on. Their discussion captured insights and memorable moments from the project, emphasizing the role of storytelling in preserving history.

StoryCorps

StoryCorps is committed to the idea that everyone has an important story to tell and that everyone’s story matters. Their mission: to help us believe in each other by illuminating the humanity and possibility in us all — one story at a time. Since their founding in 2003, they’ve helped nearly 700,000 people across the country have meaningful conversations about their lives. These recordings are collected in the U.S. Library of Congress and in their online archive which is now the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered.
